Program

Our program starts on March 1, 2026.

Regular event:

Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, we offer three events: "Planet Trail," "Physics Park," and "Sky Observation." They take place in that exact order. You can choose which parts you would like to attend. Start times vary from week to week depending on the length of the day. A table with the start times is available here. If the sky is overcast in the evening, there will be an alternative presentation in the form of a lecture.

Special bookings for tour groups are also possible on other days.

The event is held in German on Tuesdays, in English on Thursdays, and in Spanish on Saturdays.

Special events:

12.08.2026 – Perseid Meteor Shower

12.08.2026 – (almost) Total Solar Eclipse

If you are interested or would like to make a booking, please contact us via WhatsApp or email through our
contact page. You will then receive a confirmation with directions. For those using WhatsApp, we will share the location for your convenience.

We are not yet fully accessible for people with impairments, but we are working on it. The paths are unpaved, so we recommend sturdy footwear. This is especially important for stargazing. It gets very dark at our location at night, so please follow all our instructions for your safety.

Pets are not permitted anywhere on the OASO premises. There are no exceptions. We appreciate your understanding. This also applies to lap dogs, no matter how friendly they may be. There are numerous reasons for this rule, which we will gladly explain in detail upon request.

We are a scientifically oriented institution located in a nature reserve. Our equipment and installations are therefore quite sensitive. Please act with care and caution and stay on the designated paths.

Start times of the events:

The sunrise and sunset times are crucial for determining when the program can begin without long waiting times for stargazing. Therefore, we plan the presentation accordingly. You can easily find the times in the table below.

For those who have never worked with astronomical instruments before, or who lack sufficient experience, we recommend our introductory course in astrophotography. This course uses our instruments, so you will be able to operate them independently afterwards.
